2018 will be an exciting year at Oxnead celebrating 600 years since the first of the famous Paston letters was written.

The University of East Anglia and the Paston Heritage Society have formed a partnership to bring to life one of Britain’s most prominent medieval families who lived at Oxnead between 1420 and 1732. Numerous activities and events are planned including the digitalisation of the letters, creation of a 3D model of Oxnead Hall as it was in 1580, staging of a new drama in the gardens of Oxnead and an exhibition, book and film about ‘The Pason Treasure’ a work of art painted at Oxnead in the 1660’s, which is travelling to Yale to be shown at the centre for British Art in February. To commemorate the opening of the exhibition at Norwich Castle Museum in June , an open day is being held at Oxnead which will include lectures, afternoon tea and garden tours.
